IPL 2020: Match 34, DC vs CSK – CSK Predicted Playing XI

The 34th match of the Indian Premier League will get underway between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals. The three-time champions just returned to their winning ways in their last match against SRH. The otherwise roaring yellow army has been struggling so far in IPL 2020 and is currently in the 6th position on the points tally. The next half of the fascinating league will be too crucial for them if they want to continue their playoffs streak.

MS Dhoni and his men will meet table-toppers Delhi on Saturday and will have to give their best to outclass in-form Shreyas Iyer and his men. Though CSK looked much organized and composed in their last outing, they still have to do better in certain sections. Keeping the big contest in mind, it will be great to watch who all will walk up the field to don the yellow jersey in the next match.

Predicted Playing XI of CSK
Openers (Faf du Plessis and Sam Curran)
It was quite an amusing sight when young Curran walked up in the last match to open the batting for CSK, but yes, the trick worked right for them. He was capable to get quick runs with some big hits in the initial stage, and Team Management might want to try their luck again by sending him as an opener.

Du Plessis has shown some great form in IPL 2020 and is the highest run-getter from CSK so far. He couldn’t do much in his last outing but would be trusted again for the opening slot owing to his earlier heroics. He is likely to couple with Curran to give CSK the desired start.

Middle-Order (Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu, and MS Dhoni)
It was a rare sight when Watson didn’t open the line up for CSK, but he got comfortable enough at his new position. Coming at no three, he smashed 42 off 38 to push his team towards a fine score. He is likely to come up in the same position for Dhoni and his men against DC.

Rayudu was doing fine till now, but he was expected to show up some aggressive form, and he did the same in his last match. He smashed 41 off 34 in the last game to get his team going. He is likely to provide middle-order strength to his team once again on Saturday.

MS Dhoni made clear after the match against RCB that they need to start hitting big shots right from the start. All the batsmen followed on the same line in their last match and even he played a knock of quickfire 21 off 13. He is set to lead his team again with all his expertise for the next clash.

All-rounders (Ravindra Jadeja and DJ Bravo)
There couldn’t have been a great all-round form than what star Jadeja showed in the last match. He bagged 25 runs for his team towards the end off just 10-balls, scalped a wicket, and took two brilliant catches. He would be set to show his classic form again.

Though Bravo couldn’t contribute with the bat in his last game, he named two dismissals on his credit to help his team. Bravo is seen as one complete package by the Men in Yellow, and he wouldn’t want to disappoint them in their next and crucial contest.

Bowlers (Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Piyush Chawla, and Karn Sharma)
Though Chahar didn’t get any wicket on his name in the last match, he remained quite economical. He is trusted as Dhoni’s go-to man with the new ball owing to his bowling brilliance. He would most likely lead the pace attack of his team in the coming times.

Thakur has been showing some decent form with the ball for his team and got one wicket under his belt in the last game too. He will couple up with Chahar to make the team’s pace attack capable enough to stop the run flow of the opposite team.

Though Sharma turned a bit expensive in the last match, he knocked out two big crucial figures from the opposite end. He would likely find a place with the team for their next action. In the same manner, spinner Piyush Chawla might be seen turning up in the playing XI of his team to consolidate CSK’s spin section.
