Fans desperately searching for Virat Kohli’s phone number on Google to wish him on his birthday

India batting superstar and skipper Virat Kohli turned 32 on Thursday and quite unsurprisingly, the social media platforms have been flooded with birthday messages for him. From former and present cricketers, celebrities from other fields to fans, almost everyone is wishing the India batting mainstay on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

Kohli is one of the most popular players in world cricket at the moment and the amount of messages he is receiving on his birthday has proved it his immense popularity once again. And some fans are so desperate to make the day even more special for Kohli that they are searching for his phone number to wish him personally on his birthday.

Well, these surprising queries have once again established the fact that cricketers are treated as demigods in this cricket-obsessed nation.

A modern-day great, Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is already one of the most decorated batsmen in the game and is widely regarded as the best all-format player in the world at present. He has scored across formats and in almost all the parts of the world with unprecedented consistency. He made his debut for India in 2008, just a few months after leading India to glory in the ICC U19 World Cup.

So far, he has represented the country in 248 ODIs, scoring 11,867 runs with the help of 43 tons, the second-most in the format. He made his Test debut in 2011 and has played 86 games so far. The India skipper has scored 7,240 runs with the help of 27 centuries and 22 fifties in the longest format of the game. In T20I cricket, he has played 82 matches and scored 2794 runs.

At present, he is in the UAE for the ongoing IPL and is currently gearing up for the playoffs where Royal Challengers Bangalore  will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator. Following the IPL, he will travel to Australia with Team India for a full-fledged tour comprising of three ODIs, three T20Is, and four Tests.
