SRH vs CSK: Live Streaming, Match Preview, Timings, Stats, Pitch Report and more for Dream11 IPL, Match 29

Whether one is a Chennai Super Kings-supporter or not, finding them at those places in the points tally where we have found them this year, does feel odd to the eye. Such has been the consistency of the team in the history of the league! However, the year full of uncertainties has seen arguably the most consistent side in the IPL history exploring an entirely unknown half of the points table.

If coach Stephen Fleming’s statements are to be relied upon, he has mentioned about how the team at the auctions was built keeping in mind the fact that the Super Kings were to play half of the league encounters at the dusty and slow Chepauk track. CSK’s shopping strategy and last-moment exclusions (read Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina), however, cannot justify the manifest lack of intent in their campaign this year.

Struggling to get into the groove already, a patchy middle-order, the waning finishing abilities of skipper MS Dhoni, and the lack of discipline by the bowlers have only worsened their cause. CSK did well to make an impactful comeback as they crushed KXIP in a 10-wicket victory, although they have faltered against the KKR and RCB, in the matches that have followed.

Sticking to their strange template of leaving way too much for the end, the Super Kings succumbed under the run-rate pressure once again during their 37-run loss against Virat Kohli’s men in the last game.

David Warner’s Sunrisers Hyderabad has only been slightly better than their opponents and has won three out of the seven games to CSK’s two. SRH is entering this clash after a strange and confusing defeat against the Rajasthan Royals (RR), where despite having an upper hand for the majority of the game, they failed to capitalise in the end.

After giving a modest target of 159 to RR, the SRH bowlers did well to tighten the grip around them until Riyan Parag and Rahul Tewatia joined hands in a match-winning alliance to eventually snatch a victory from right under the nose of their opponents. Therefore, coming out against each other at Dubai International Stadium on Tuesday, both the teams will be desperate to grab the two points on offer.

Pitch and conditions
There has been a spongy bounce at the track at Dubai for the pacers, however, the pitch has been slightly on the slower side in the last couple of games. The batsmen have not found it easy to flow after getting in, although spending some time in the middle before accelerating has been a workable ploy for the batters. Dew could play a part in the second half of the game, nevertheless, both teams would ideally want to bat first upon winning the toss.

Playing combination for SRH vs CSK
Sunrisers Hyderabad Probable 11
The over-reliance at the top-order has been a concerning area for the team. Both Warner and Bairstow have made valuable contributions thus far, however, SRH have derailed whenever one of them has misfired. The form of Manish Pandey, at his crucial position, has been a blessing for the side.

Furthermore, the addition of Kane Williamson has beefed up the team, although a relatively young and inexperienced middle-order has been left exposed this year. Khaleel Ahmed was on fire in the last game before he leaked runs in the death. He will pick himself alongside T Natarajan and Sandeep Sharma, whereas the spin department will be led by Rashid Khan.

Probable 11- David Warner (C), Jonny Bairstow (WK), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Vijay Shankar, Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, T Natarajan.

Chennai Super Kings Probable 11
The most major concern for the team by captain MS Dhoni’s admission has been their batting unit. “Batting has been a bit of a worry. We need to do something about it,” MS stated after the game against RCB. The CSK lineup has often burdened itself by not showing intent and the likes of Shane Watson, Sam Curran, and Ambati Rayudu will need to up the ante sooner than later.

The team included N Jagadeesan in the last game, however, his addition did not reap the results they would have liked. The comeback for Dwayne Bravo has not proved to be too fruitful for the team as he has been often under-utilized and curtailed in the batting order.

Probable 11- Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu, Faf du Plessis, MS Dhoni (C & WK), Sam Curran, N Jagadeesan, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Karn Sharma, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar.
