Jess Jonassen Back at Number One, Healy in Top 3 Women’s ODI Rankings

Dubai: Australia’s left-arm spinner, Jess Jonassen, has regained the top spot of fast player Megan Schutt after the ICC Women’s Championship series against Sri Lanka, while Alyssa Healy’s excellent form sees her among the three best hitters in the last female ODI Player Ranking.

Jonassen and Healy contributed in Australia’s 3-0 victory over Sri Lanka and their performances have been reflected in the latest rankings, which also take into account the inaugural match of the three-game India-South Africa series.

Jonassen’s six wickets, including a run of four to 31 in the second game, have helped her take the first place she had held until July and allowed her to reach the score of 758 in the best score of her career. He has also reached with Schutt at the top of the list of bowlers in the championship, with both now in 30 wickets each.

Healy, who has scored 1,000 races in the championship, is also in the best career score. She has 738 points and is among the top three hitters for the first time after being ranked 42nd two years ago.

Rachael Haynes was the top scorer with 237 runs in the series and is in 21st place, the highest since reaching 17 in 2013.
