Nathan Lyon and girlfriend Emma McCarthy slay at the Melbourne Airport
On Monday, December 30, Nathan Lyon, the Australian off-break bowler, was spotted with his girl-friend Emma McCarthy. The couple was seen, jetting out of the Melbourne Airport together. The duo looked in a jolly mood and rightly so as the Aussies have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match Test series versus Kane Williamson’s New Zealand.
Australia won the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground by a mammoth 247 runs, bowling the Kiwis out for 148 in the fourth innings. Emma and Lyon had smiles on their faces when they came to the airport. Emma looked pretty comfortable in a black slip dress and she paired the same with a denim jacket and sneakers. She was looking stylish.
Even as she pulled her two suitcases, she also carried a black leather Gucci satchel worth around $3,000. She didn’t wear a whole lot of makeup and also got a ponytail. On the other hand, Nathan wore his Aussie cricket uniform and kept his belongings inside a couple of suitcases and a backpack.
he couple started dating each other when Lyon was in relation with Mel Waring, his ex-partner and mother of two daughters. Their romance came to the fore after they were seen kissing each other in Perth. Thereafter, Mel didn’t mince any words in saying that the pictures had left her devastated.
Later, Mel spoke about the travails she had to face while coming to terms with the relationship breakdown. She vented out her emotions in a series of blog posts. “We have lived a life where he has constantly travelled, cricket was life and touring was a given… it’s easy to forget,” she wrote in March 2018.
Emma paid tribute to Nathan Lyon
Meanwhile, Emma paid tribute to her loved one after Australia managed to retain the Ashes in England. “It’s crazy to think we’ve been home for a month or so now but what a rollercoaster ride the World Cup and Ashes series were. Full of highs and lows. Nathan, your passion, love and commitment to the game amazes me.
Your resilience over after over, game after game is something to be truly proud of. Thank you for letting me share the ride with you and all the family and friends that joined us along the way,” Emma mentioned.
