List of Purple Cap winners in IPL
Cricket is said to be a batsman’s game, especially in the T20 format. The game has been structured to witness the big hits and maximum runs on the scoreboard. The T20 game generally offers flat pitches and short boundaries for it to be a high-scoring encounter. Under these conditions, it is very tough for a bowler to take wickets and bowl a good economical spell.
In the past 12 seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the bowlers have produced various match-winning spells. The Indian T20 League provides a purple cap as an award to the highest wicket-taker in the single-season of IPL. Till now, the league has witnessed some marvellous bowling efforts.
The Purple Cap was introduced to appreciate the ability of bowlers who execute the plans perfectly and win matches for their team by taking the highest number of wickets. The cap is worn by the players on the field and is rotated throughout the tournament. In the end, the bowler with the most number of wickets takes it away.
CSK – Team with most Purple Caps
Chennai Super Kings is known for their dominating performance in the history of IPL. CSK is considered to be the most balanced team. The CSK players won a purple cap on four occasions which is the most by any team. The Hyderabad Franchise, earlier known as Deccan Chargers (now defunct) and now as Sunrisers Hyderabad also has four caps in the cabinet. The bowlers from Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Daredevils, and Kings XI Punjab have won the Purple Cap once each.
The dominance of Bravo and Kumar in IPL

Bravo also holds the record of taking the highest number of wickets in a single edition of the cash-rich league.
