Kane Richardson looking forward to trying some vegan food with Virat Kohli in IPL 2020
Kane Richardson, the Australian fast bowler, who is known for his exploits with the ball in the T20 format is delighted to be back at Royal Challengers Bangalore. The 28-year-old fast bowler was part of the successful 2016 IPL edition with the RCB in which they reached the finals. Richardson was bought by the RCB franchise again, for a hefty amount of 4 crores INR in the IPL 2020 Auction.
Richardson was included in the RCB squad, to add depth in the bowling department which the franchise has lacked in the last few years. Skipper Kohli and the RCB think tank were keen on making him part of their squad once again as he boasts an impressive T20 record. Richardson has so far picked over 100 wickets in his T20 career at an economy rate of under 8 runs per over and has been in brilliant form while playing for the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League.
Richardson, who is currently in India for the ODI series, mentioned the fact that he is looking forward to playing for RCB again under the leadership of Virat Kohli. In an interview with ESPNcricinfo, the speedster said that he was also looking forward to trying some vegan foods as now it will be easily available since Kohli himself has turned vegan.
Richardson said the Indian skipper texted him after the auction and welcomed him back at Royal Challengers Bangalore.
RCB will be eager to lift their maiden IPL trophy in 2020
“Virat always gives out tips about where to go or even passes some food for breakfast. He actually did send me a message when I got picked in the auction. He said welcome back and make sure the super foods are ready, and I said that I’m looking forward to break time already,” said Richardson.
Kohli, who recently turned vegan, is known for his commitment towards training and nutrition and he will be looking to share more tips with the fast bowler. It will be interesting to see how Richardson performs and makes an impact in the upcoming IPL season. RCB still haven’t won the IPL trophy and will be hoping to make this season their own and finally lift the cup.
IPL 2020 will be played between 29 March to 24 May this year, with RCB kicking off their campaign on April 3 when they face the defending champions Mumbai Indians at their home ground.
