‘Jasprit Bumrah has been phenomenal in death overs’ – Zaheer Khan ahead of RCB-MI encounter

Mumbai Indians after clinching a stylish victory against Kolkata Knight Riders in their last match, are set to face Royal Challengers Bangalore in their next game. It will be the first time when defending champions will be playing their game on the pitch of Dubai in IPL 2020. The skipper of Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma, stole the limelight with his power-hitting in the match against Kolkata as Mumbai opened their account in the points table.

In the latest turn of events, Mumbai’s Director of Cricket Operations, Zaheer Khan, briefed media in a pre-match press conference. He also spoke about Mumbai’s journey and their developments in the IPL so far. He threw some light on his bowling set up and addressed the dew factor before their clash with Virat Kohli and his men.

“As I said, you have a lot of experience when you look at someone like Boult who has played so much of international cricket, has played in so many different conditions. That experience matters a lot. He’s a world-class bowler, and so is Pattinson.

And Bumrah has been phenomenal in death overs and carries that weight of the backend of the innings on his shoulders, which always provides great strength to the bowling unit. As far as death bowling is concerned, I think we have pretty good plans in place with regards to different opposition and different batters,” said the former India pacer.

Bowlers have capacity to absorb pressure in the middle: Zaheer Khan
“It’s about going out there and having that freedom of expression, which we believe when you have to go with the game, and you have to be proactive. About that, when you see the names which we are discussing, our job becomes easier because we know that these guys, they are experienced campaigners, can absorb the pressure in the middle and be proactive,” added Khan when asked about the death bowling of Mumbai as quoted by MI’s official website.

Jasprit Bumrah is trying hard to find a rhythm in the 2020 edition of IPL– the statement was made by his fellow pacer, Trent Boult, before their last outing. However, Bumrah seems to have returned on his track as per his performance in the last match.
