India vs South Africa | Kohli’s Ability to Find Gaps Puts Pressure on Opposition: Laxman

Pune: former Indian batter V.V.S. Laxman was a compliment to Virat Kohli after the Indian captain closed a 254 undefeated better in his career in the first innings of the second Test against South Africa on Friday.

Mounted on the Kohli double seventh century record, mostly by an Indian batter, India declared 601/5 before reducing South Africa to 36/3 on stumps on Day 2.

Laxman said that at this stage of Kohli’s career, the battle against the thought process itself becomes more crucial than against the bowlers.



“For a player like Kohli, batting at this level is like fighting your thinking process and not against bowlers,” said the 44-year-old in a Cricket Live segment broadcast exclusively on Star Sports.

Laxman also said that Kohli’s ability to constantly eliminate the gaps puts pressure on the opposition captain and bowlers.
