Boyfriend Proposes Amanda Jade-Wellington After WBBL Match

Adelaide Strikers cricket player, Amanda Jade-Wellington, was pleasantly surprised on Saturday when her boyfriend proposed to her at the cricket ground after a Women’s Big Bash League match against Melbourne Renegades.

The leg spinner was celebrating her team’s victory over the Forsaken when her boyfriend, Tayler McKechnie, entered the field and knelt down to propose marriage, a video that was shared on social media by Adelaide Strikers.

Amanda, 22, was seen saying “yes” when her teammates encouraged the couple in the background.



“When I saw him in the field, I thought, ‘Get off, we’re trying to take a picture of the team.’ I had no idea what was really happening, but I’m very happy … I’m still shaking,” said Amanda, according to The Advertiser

Amanda debuted in Australia in 2016 and has played 8 T20I, 12 ODI and 1 Test for the national team.
