Cases Are Different But Protect Shakib from News: Mohammad Ashraful

One of the most talented hitters who have played for Bangladesh, Mohammad Ashraful’s career worsened when he was suspended in 2013 by match-fixing in the Bangladesh Premier League.

Ashraful, who was 30 when he was banned, acknowledged that Shakib’s case is different from his, and said that Shakib needs to be protected from local media.

Shakib, who received a two-year ban (one year suspended) on Tuesday for not reporting three corrupt approaches, including one in the IPL, was just before players rebelled against the cricket board.
