Steve Smith Out For Nought Upon Return to Sheffield Shield

Australian hitter Steve Smith had a rare failure with the bat, as he was out for a duck on his return to the Sheffield Shield Trophy after a two-year gap. While playing for New South Wales, Smith surpassed a delivery from Queensland bowler Cameron Gannon when Joe Burns received a strong catch.

Since his return to competitive cricket, after his one-year ban on ball manipulation, Smith has been in an ominous form and scored a ton, to go with a double in the recently concluded Ashes.

One of his most memorable hits was in the Old Trafford Test, where he crushed 211 and won the game for Australia.
