I don’t miss attending IPL games but I’m missing my husband: Sakshi Dhoni
After his departure from the biggest stage on August 15, all fans were eagerly waiting for MS Dhoni’s return to the field in IPL 2020. The wait of ardent Dhoni fans finally ended when Chennai Super Kings (CSK) locked horns with defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in the season opener.
CSK flagged off their IPL 2020 journey on a positive note by defeating a dominant MI side. They, however, suffered setbacks after losing their next two games against Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals. Vying for their second victory in the tournament, the MS Dhoni-led side will be in action against Sunrisers Hyderabad on October 2.
Apart from plying his trade in the on-going IPL edition, Dhoni is all set to venture into the OTT space too. The former India skipper, along with wife Sakshi, is planning to come up with a web series which is an adaptation of an unpublished book written by a debutant author. The couple had already launched their banner Dhoni Entertainment in 2019 with the documentary ‘Roar Of The Lion’.
Sakshi opens up on her future plans in the entertainment industry
“I have paid more attention to the process of putting thought and idea into creative action. The joy of seeing a concept being brought to life on the screen keeps me engrossed, and we ensure the process is quality driven. When we were developing ‘Roar Of The Lion’, we thought it was the perfect time to venture into the entertainment industry,” said Sakshi on their future endeavours, as quoted by Inside Sport.
Sakshi further also opened up on her life during the pandemic. She highlighted that her bond with the family, as well as dogs, improved due to the quality time which she spent with them during the lockdown. Dhoni’s better half also revealed how she keeps Ziva entertained at home.
“I also have gotten in touch with facets of myself that were dormant. I feel like, instead of my parenting style evolving, I am getting schooled with Ziva with all the online classes I attend with her. The need of the hour during lockdown was to find innovative techniques to make children do their homework, and that was my method as well,” Sakshi explained.
Dhoni, after India’s oust from 2019 World Cup, was away from the sport for more than a year. Meanwhile, Sakshi also got to spend a lot of time with ‘Mahi’, especially during the lockdown. Dhoni, at present, is fulfilling his commitments in the UAE and Sakshi is currently missing him.
“I am not really missing it (attending IPL in a stadium) as I am following it diligently on TV, but I miss my husband. Honestly, it would’ve been difficult for Ziva and me to be in the bubble for over two months,” Sakshi added.
